Careers for older women are available. Women have come a long way in the workplace, yet there are still some unique challenges that older women face as they embark on a career change and look for new career training.Women between the ages of 45 and 60 may have difficulty pursuing new career training because of certain tangible and intangible barriers. For instance, some women may have to remain in a particular location due to family constraints. Others may not be able to afford education or feel it may take too long. Crazy Shirts? T-shirt collection features Disney characters<img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/pacific/news/Crazy_Shirts_Disney_LadiesMinnie*100.jpg?v=1'>Hawaii-based Crazy Shirts said Friday it is launching a new collection of speciality T-shirts featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Tinker Bell and other Disney characters.
The shirts, designed by Crazy Shirts Creative Director Eric Robison, feature 18 original, island-inspired designs. They are available at Crazy Shirts stores in Waikiki, Kaanapali and Wailea resorts on Maui, and the Waikoloa resort on the Big Island, the company said.

</div>Energy Department to fund wave power test in HawaiiThe U.S. Department of Energy said Friday it would make $500,000 available for a year-long test of a wave energy conversion project at the Navy?s wave energy test site off the Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay.
The funding presents a new opportunity for a wave energy project at the Windward Oahu base, which has been the site of three test projects by Ocean Power Technologies, which recently removed a 40-kilowatt PowerBuoy from the waters off the base.

</div>Hawaii grants EIS exemption for geothermal explorationThe Hawaii Environmental Council made an important decision on Thursday that allows the state Department of Land and Natural Resources to do away with one part of expensive and time-consuming exploration ventures for geothermal projects.

These classes are generally easy to access, easy to follow and cost effective. And, the best part is that they are very flexible. Often students can work at their own pace from anywhere in the world.Internships and job shadowing: You may think internships are for young college students, but that’s not always the case. Many employers will offer these types of opportunities to men and women in more mature age groups as an alternative way to update career training. This is a great opportunity for many people, because it is a hands-on experience and offers the chance to learn as you do the work. It is also a way to network and create professional relationships.Career coaching: Career enrichment coaching and new career coaching can provide you with the personalized attention you may need for to sort through your options. A career coach is someone who is trained to work with you and provide assessment tools to validate the best skill and job interest match for your profile. Four people who were convicted of defrauding the Memorial Healthcare System in a bribery scheme were sentenced to prison by U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra on Friday.
Thomas Kennedy, of Davie, was sentenced to 42 months in prison. Richard Cohen, of Wellington, and Paul Chaiet, a CPA, were each sentenced to 18 months in prison. UM gets $7M award for AIDS research
Researchers at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine were awarded a $7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to conduct AIDS research.

Swire releases more detailed Brickell CitiCentre rendering

The rendering identifies all of the buildings on the 9.1-acre property, and what each contains in square footage. The project will include a mix of offices, residences, retail and hotel space.

Golden Sands Canyon Ranch project faces foreclosure

Miami's Camillus House completes first phase of new facility

The Norwegian Cruise Line Campus at 1603 NW Seventh Ave. has finalized construction on three buildings, which will offer long and short-term housing, mental health care services, retail space, a kennel and parking.

Costa Concordia wreck removal plan presented
Costa Crociere S.p.A officials and the company tasked with the removal of the wreck of the Costa Concordia from the coast of Giglio Island presented their plan for the work Friday in Rome.

Florida's jobless rate drops to lowest since early 2009
