Nfl: John Madden

Many have coached in the NFL and then gone on to become sports anchors or consultants for the NFL. There is one former coach that really stands out, and that person is John Madden. He was one of the best coaches in the NFL, and after his coaching career ended, he went on to become a commentator for Monday Night Football. He has been doing this for a number of years, and he is extremely good at it, too, and he knows so much about it that it comes easily for him. John Madden has always loved the game, and that is what makes him so good at what he does. Most people must attend college to obtain a degree in order to do what John Madden currently does. But when a person has as much experience as John Madden does, they are more apt to get the job without the necessary college degree.
John Madden also has different kinds of games for various video game systems named after him. It doesn’t matter if it’s an Xbox, Play station, Nintendo, etc., there are Madden games available. the player is actually on the screen playing the game. John’s name has been on these games for many years now. Retiring from coaching certainly didn’t affect John Madden’s financial state. In fact, he undoubtedly makes more money now than he made while he was coaching. If you ask John what he’d rather be doing, though, he will without a doubt tell you that he’d prefer to coach, anytime. It’s not all about the money for him. Coaching is a lot more stressful and physical than many people know, and it started to become too much for John to handle, which is why he decided to retire. Even though he loved coaching immensely, he would sometimes become so angry when his team wasn’t playing up to their potential, or if officials weren’t being fair about fouls, etc. that it really started to become dangerous for him. His heart isn’t in the best of shape, and all the yelling and becoming angry could have caused a heart attack or some other tragedy, which is why he decided to become a commentator. He loves his current job and all the video games, but to him, there is nothing like coaching. Crazy Shirts? T-shirt collection features Disney characters

The shirts, designed by Crazy Shirts Creative Director Eric Robison, feature 18 original, island-inspired designs. They are available at Crazy Shirts stores in Waikiki, Kaanapali and Wailea resorts on Maui, and the Waikoloa resort on the Big Island, the company said.

New chancellor eyes Pacific-12 Conference for Hawaii
New University of Hawaii at Manoa Chancellor-designate Tom Apple has some high hopes for the school?s athletics.

PBN Forty Under 40 class reflects Hawaii?s business community
They?re small-business owners, company executives, attorneys, government employees and members of Hawaii?s nonprofit community.
They have two things in common: They?re all under the age of 40 and they all have been selected by outside judges to be members of PBN?s Forty Under 40 class of 2012. They will be honored at an awards reception at the Hawaii Convention Center on June 21.

If you want to see a movie star up close, you don?t have to hop on a plane to head to Hollywood.

Energy Department to fund wave power test in Hawaii
The U.S. Department of Energy said Friday it would make $500,000 available for a year-long test of a wave energy conversion project at the Navy?s wave energy test site off the Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay.
The funding presents a new opportunity for a wave energy project at the Windward Oahu base, which has been the site of three test projects by Ocean Power Technologies, which recently removed a 40-kilowatt PowerBuoy from the waters off the base.

Erika Lacro named chancellor of Honolulu Community College
Erika Lacro has been named chancellor of Honolulu Community College effective July 2.
Lacro, who is currently vice chancellor of academic affairs at HCC, was chosen by the University of Hawaii Board of Regents from a list of three finalists, who were announced last month.
