Do You Respect Yourself Financially?

There is always much talk about what the secrets for achieving financial dreams, whatever they be, are. It may seem like a mystery as to why some people seem to be able to make a lot of money, keep it and then go onto make more. The truth is these people follow some basic laws concerning money management. These laws are not difficult to understand, however they do require discipline. Money management and financial knowledge is important.
I am sure that there are some people who are reading this who feel ashamed about how they handle their money. The trouble with this is that shame or guilt about finances only creates a state of "poor" thinking and this type of thinking attracts more financial trouble. To turn this around you need to focus your energy and attention on new behaviors that will establish you to think wealthy thoughts. When you feel good about how you handle money, you can learn to trust yourself.
To improve your financial health you need to start out slowly and methodically in order to develop the good habits of fiscal management. Donor gives UH business college Ala Moana Hotel condo unitHong Kong businesswoman Cecilia Ho has gifted a condominium unit at the Ala Moana Hotel with a value of $117,000 to the University of Hawaii Manoa?s Shidler College of Business.

First-quarter housing affordability at record high

According to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Opportunity Index, housing affordability hit an all-time high for the second consecutive quarter during the period ending March 31, 2012. Still, a familiar foe stands in the way of prospective home buyers.

Fitch downgrades Memphis airport
<img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/memphis/blog/morning_call/Morning%20Call%20sun%20Memphis*100.jpg?v=1'>Fitch Ratings downgraded Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority's bond rating, but revised the rating outlook to Stable from Negative.
The airport's $415.5 million worth of bonds were downgraded to "A" from "A+" mostly due to Delta Air Lines Inc.'s service decline at Memphis International Airport. Local passenger traffic is projected to drop below 4 million, which translates into a more than 30 percent enplanement loss from the peak levels in 2008, according to Fitch.

Commissioner Ritz says suburban Memphis schools will cost much more than advertised

Ritz questions the math on feasibility studies conducted for the various suburbs and says it could be off by as much as $1 million. Southern Educational Strategies, a school consulting firm, conducted all the surveys for six different municipalities around Memphis.

Big Star member, Memphis financial planner Steve Rhea dies
<img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/memphis/blog/morning_call/Morning%20Call%20sun%20Memphis*100.jpg?v=1'>Steve Rhea, a rock 'n roll drummer who went on to a successful career as a Memphis banker and financial planner, died Wednesday, The Commercial Appeal reports. He was 62 and had been diagnosed with cancer last year.
Rhea was a drummer in the legendary Memphis band Big Star, as well as several of the group's precursor bands. He also worked for Ardent Records before leaving the scene in 1970 to pursue a degree at Southern Methodist University. He was replaced in Big Star by drummer Jody Stephens.
