Selecting The Right Business Coaching Course And Business Coach

Business coaching can be very helpful in streamlining business processes, harnessing business potential, and increasing profitability. However, these can only be achieved by using the right kind of business coaching that is cost effective and does not hinder the day-to-day functioning of the business. Before selecting a business-coaching course, it is important that you spare some time for learning about the coaching facilitators, their experience, their areas of expertise, their educational qualifications and the type of coaching they are willing to provide.
Although organizations such as the International Coaching Federation (ICF) do accredit commercial coaching companies, the fact is that most of these large associations are guided by their own private business agendas that concentrate on adding more and more members to their database for commercial purposes. As such, depending on just accreditation for selecting a particular business-coaching company or firm may not be the right thing to do. If you research properly, you will find numerous reputed business coaching companies that are neither accredited by the ICF nor follow its course curriculum. Accreditation organizations such as the ICF are often blamed for violating professional business standards. In many cases, the ICF has provided certification to individuals and accredited the schools from which these individuals have received their training. The ICF has also been criticized for its recent decision that calls for including only ICF accredited schools on the list of approved coach training organizations. With accreditation available to anyone who is willing to pay, the integrity of both the coaching professional as well as the association is being adversely affected.

Facebook shares fall flat on IPO debut

Spangler pleads not guilty in $48M fraud case

Judge: Mastro creditor Hazelrigg must redo bankruptcy papers
U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Timothy Dore ruled against Bellevue businessman Tom Hazelrigg III Friday morning, saying Hazelrigg could not refuse to answer questions about his finances in his involuntary bankruptcy by making a blanket assertion of his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination.
Hazelrigg had turned in largely blank bankruptcy schedules earlier with a notation that he was asserting his Fifth Amendment right.

Foreclosures fall in Washington state, West
A new report says foreclosures are declining nationally, particularly in the West.
According to RealtyTrac, a California-based foreclosure listing service, foreclosure filings nationwide in April hit their lowest monthly total since July 2007, and foreclosure activity declined sharply in several Western states.
Foreclosure activity nationwide was down 14 percent in April from April of 2011, with one in every 698 U.S. residences having a foreclosure filing during the month.

UMSL to acquire Quincy Public Radio Station
The University of Missouri?St. Louis is acquiring Quincy University?s public radio station WQUB 90.3 FM in Quincy, Ill., St. Louis Public Radio officials said today.
The sale of WQUB is expected to be completed in the next three to four months, at which point, St. Louis Public Radio, 90.7 KWMU, will handle operations and programming of the station. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
As part of the St. Louis Public Radio network, WQUB will be called Quincy Public Radio.<div class="feedflare">

Peabody Energy leases 402 million tons of coal in Wyoming

Antitrust review ends for Viasystems? acquisition of DDi
<img src='http://assets.bizjournals.com/stlouis/news/Sindelar,DavidPromo2011*100.jpg?v=1'>Officials from Viasystems Group Inc. and DDi Corp. said today that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 relating to the previously announced acquisition of DDi by Viasystems has expired without a request for more information by the U.S. Department of Justice or the Federal Trade Commission.
The transaction still requires approval by DDi?s stockholders, and the companies expect the transaction to close by May 31.

Gateway Classic Cars to open Chicago location June 1

Miriam Foundation establishes Cornelsen Diagnostic Center

The diagnostic center will provide free and reduced-cost assessment services for children who do not qualify for testing in the school setting and have limited resources to access private assessment services.

Barnes-Jewish to refund $725,185 to Wisconsin Physician Services

The hospital is refunding the amount of the overpayment to the Medicare contractor involved, Wisconsin Physician Services, as recommended by the HHS report.

Brown Shoe Q1 profit drops 54 percent

Monsanto Co. said today the company is committing $50 million over the next 10 years to support sustained Africa agricultural development and growth. The company is supporting the New Vision for Agriculture Initiative, the Grow Africa Partnership and the G8's New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition.
