HELP ME WITH MY COVER LETTER PLEASE!?
Can somebody please help me write a cover letter for this job that i’m applying for….PLEASE below are the requirements of the job.
Applications are invited for the position of Entry Clearance Officer LEII at the British High Commission in Canberra.
The vacancy exists within the United Kingdom Border Agency International Group – Visa Services, located at Brindabella Business Park, Canberra.
Visa Services handles around 50,000 applications per year, each of which are assessed individually. The role requires sound technical knowledge and the ability to work in a busy environment with pre-determined processing targets.
For security purposes, applicants must be nationals of UK, EU, USA, Australia, New Zealand or Canada.
Purpose of the role:
To assess and conclude applications for entry clearance to the UK in accordance with UK Immigration rules. To provide a high quality, efficient and non-discriminatory service that meets published service standards and provides all applicants with a fast and fair service.
Duties include:
Make fair and justifiable entry clearance decisions in accordance with UK Immigration Rules and other relevant guidance
Resolve all applications consistently within agreed benchmarks, maintaining productivity and quality under pressure
Treat all customers with respect, fairness and dignity, whether engaging with them in person or in writing
Ensure all applications are carefully and pragmatically reviewed
Ensure that responses to correspondence are made within target timelines, in clear and concise language
Provide accurate information in accordance with the Immigration Rules, Entry Clearance Guidance and other relevant instructions
Manage and develop a small team to ensure their ability to undertake their responsibilities efficiently and effectively
Develop and maintain effective, professional working relationships with colleagues and outside contacts
Applicants for the positions should meet the following key requirements:
1. Demonstrated experience in the application of legislation/regulations/guidance and the systematic gathering, assimilation and evaluation of information to reach logical and timely defensible conclusions.
2. Demonstrated ability to make difficult administrative decisions based on relevant facts. Documents these decisions, ensuring that all written communication is concise, accurate, considered, structured and well-presented in plain English.
3. Demonstrated ability to understand and focus on customer needs to ensure the delivery of agreed customer service standards
4. Demonstrated experience in the measurement, monitoring and quality assurance of service delivery and the ability to initiate and implement improved work practices.
5. Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for delivering own work with speed, and professionalism. Able to respond flexibly to changing priorities, monitoring progress and quality of own work and meeting objectives.
6. Demonstrated experience engaging, supporting and coaching staff in a small team to ensure high performance and achievement of objectives
7. Sound representational skills with the ability to present the professionalism of the British High Commission and the UK Border Agency.
8. Previous Entry Clearance/Immigration experience would be an advantage
