I wanted to know from any psychologists how you would start a life coaching business?
I wanted to know if any psychologists know how to start a life coaching practice. I am a Waivered Psychologist and I wanted to ask if you need an office and how you would go about advertising?
This is what I would do: start small. Do some work for free for practice & to get your feet wet. I would try to start with a friend – make up a plan for them. I don't think you need an office per se; couldn't you just go to the person's house? As for where to advertise, I think COLLEGES, trade schools, churches, etc. (all their local publications). Also any sort of community mental health centers (if they have bulletin boards). Do you have any psychologist friends who could refer some of their patients to you?

As you are already a health professional you may like to consider health coaching in addition to life coaching. The health crisis in the USA and elsewhere in the world is a trillion dollar business. Just about everyone can benefit from health coaching, which is the promotion of health and fitness strategies delivered in a coaching environment with the intention of facilitiating the attainment of health related goals. You can combine this with life coaching.
The business can be run from home and is telephone and interenet based. Please take a look at http://www.healthcoachtraininginternational.com and watch the video presentation there. You will see a demonstration of the sophisticated software, developed for the corporate world, that allows you to manage in excess of 100 clients a month.
I work with individual clients and small businesses who can boost their bottom line considerably by having a healthy well motivated work force. This reduces absenteeism, enhances productivity, and is seen as a perk thereby boosting staff loyalty which in turn aids staff retention and saves on recruting and training costs.
